Youth Apprenticeship & WBL Programs
Youth Apprenticeship Programs
Youth Apprenticeship Programs are for high school students ages 16 & older who want to explore trades industries or healthcare careers.
The Youth Apprenticeship Program (sometimes called Work Based Learning - WBL) is a dual enrollment program through the Department of Education.
This allows the student to finish their high school degree, while getting paid for hands-on experience within a certain trade! It is a fantastic opportunity for a student to explore a career in the trades while finishing their schooling.
Typical working hours are 720 hours per year. The hours of hands-on experience and classroom work can be used as a prerequisite for completing a Registered Apprenticeship Program upon high school graduation.
Each program with Trade UP Careers is unique to each school and business that we partner with.
